Safety First: Re-Opening Schools in the Midst of a Pandemic
GCAE, we've received an outpouring of concerns over the summer from you all about returning back to school. We are concerned and we have questions too.
On July 11th, we wrote a letter to GCPS Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks about the re-opening of Gwinnett County Schools. You can read it below:
We continued our fight for transparency and to be heard last week, by continuing in conversations with state leadership about your concerns and questions about safety and returning to school.
Because of this, yesterday, on July 16th, GAE President Lisa Morgan also wrote a letter to GCPS Superintendent and the Gwinnett County School Board. You can read it below:
We have your back and we want to continue to hear from you. Our local leaders need to know and hear your voices and concerns, so if you have questions or comments for local leadership, please send them to admin@gcae.net so we can continue to compile and deliver them to stakeholders and decision-makers.
With any questions, please email Co-President Jeanette Kimber directly at jkimber@gcae.net or Vice President Charmaine Madukolum at cmadu@gcae.net.
Stay safe!
